Roofing SEO: get found for repairs and replacements without paying per lead.

When a roof leaks or a storm comes through, homeowners search for a roofer and call the companies at the top of the map. SOSSRANK shows you where you appear across your service area, and what to fix where you don't. Software from $39 a month, or we do the work. Anywhere in the US.

Your rank changes across your whole service area.

Roofers often cover many towns, and Google weighs how close you are to each person searching. You can rank well near your office and be missing in the towns where you want more jobs. SOSSRANK checks your rank from a grid of points across your area.

Why roofing companies lose jobs on the map

Google ranks local results on relevance, distance and prominence. For roofers, the gaps are usually about coverage, services and proof of past work.

What we find most often

  • Repair, replacement and storm services missing from your Google profile
  • No pages for the towns you want more jobs in
  • Few photos of finished roofs on your profile and site
  • Hours and phone that don't reflect how you handle storm calls
  • Reviews that don't mention the kind of job you did

Set up your Google profile the way homeowners search

Roofing contractor is the usual primary category. Add the services people actually search for: roof replacement, roof repair, leak repair, storm damage repair, inspections, gutters and the materials you install, such as shingle, metal or flat roofs.

If customers don't come to you, Google asks you to hide your address and list the areas you serve instead. You can add up to 20 service areas, and Google recommends keeping the whole area within about two hours' drive of where you're based. Google's service-area rules are short and worth reading once.

Keep your business name exactly as it appears on your van, your invoices and your sign. Google's guidelines don't allow extra keywords or town names in the name, and profiles that add them can be suspended. Put services in the services list and towns in the service area, where they belong.

Pages for each service and each area you cover

A homeowner with a leak and a homeowner pricing a full replacement are looking for different answers. Give each main service its own page: what the work involves, how long it usually takes, what affects the price and what happens with insurance claims if you handle them.

Roofers usually cover a wide area, so town pages matter. Make each one specific: the neighborhoods, the kind of homes and roofs there, and projects you've completed nearby, with photos.

Storm season is when the map matters most

After a storm, searches for roof repair jump and people call whoever looks close, open and trustworthy. Keep your hours accurate, answer the phone, and post updates on your Google profile so people can see you're working in their area.

Paid lead services and ads can fill gaps, but you pay for every lead. Ranking in the map and in organic results keeps bringing calls without a fee per lead, which is why it's worth building alongside any paid channel.

Reviews with photos of the finished roof

Ask for a review when the job is done and the customer is happiest, and suggest they add a photo of the finished roof. Specific reviews help the next homeowner decide.

Google doesn't allow discounts, gifts or payment in exchange for reviews, and it doesn't allow asking only your happy customers. The review policy is clear on both. The safe, effective habit is to ask every customer, every time, in the same way.

Measure it like for like

Rankings on the map aren't one number. They change with the searcher's location, so a single check from your office tells you almost nothing about the rest of your area.

SOSSRANK checks your position from a grid of points across your service area, for the searches you care about, and saves each scan. When you change something, the next scan uses the same points, so you can see what moved and where. That's how you tell a real gain from noise, and how you decide what to fix next.

Questions we hear

What is roofing SEO?

It's the work of getting your roofing company to show up when homeowners search on Google, Google Maps and AI assistants. Most of it comes from your Google Business Profile, your service and town pages, and your reviews.

Is SEO better than buying roofing leads?

They do different jobs. Paid leads cost money every time. Ranking on the map and in search keeps bringing calls without a fee per lead, so most roofers do well building SEO alongside any paid channel.

Do you work with businesses outside Maryland?

Yes. The app works for businesses anywhere in the US, and done-for-you work is done remotely, with everything visible in your dashboard. We're based in Germantown, Maryland.

How fast will I see more calls?

It depends on your market and your competitors, and Google says no one can pay for a better ranking. What you get is proof: you see the change on your map, measured from the same points every time.
